Song and dance at the Park Community Centre

ON Saturday, September 18 the Park Community Centre are holding a Jumble Sale at 11am.

If you have any jumble (no videos or cassettes) please take it along to the centre. If you can help on the day to set it up please telephone 839579 and give your names, we will get back to you.

The Forum’s choir, “The Waterside Singers” has started rehearsals again.

They already have some bookings, including a concert with an orchestra. They have done so well in such a short time.

Plans are being discussed to develop a Christmas set, which will be available for a 30-minute performance. I would like to think that some of our hotels, preferably within the local area, might find it a useful addition to the Turkey Twizzle breaks they offer to visitors to our town. There will be a small fee.

For information or to provisionally book the choir (limited slots available) please call the centre on 839579.

For those people who do not want to join a choir, but like a good sing-song we are starting an evening group on Monday, September 20 at 6.30pm for an hour. We will be doing all the old favourites and if you are brave enough we have the Karaoke machine.

IF you have the energy this will be followed by Line-Dancing with Pat Lee who does a very gentle pace, and goes along with the flow at your pace.

So Mondays at the Park Community Centre is full of song and dance.

WHICH leads us on nicely to Fridays when we have free Dance Mats sessions.

Times as follows:- 10am-11am, parents and toddlers (with a crèche); 2pm-3.30pm, adults only; 4.30pm-5.30pm, youngsters; 6pm-7pm, open sessions (priority for those at work during the day).

Sessions liable to change subject to usage.
