WELL it is a New Year and many of the activities at the Park Community Centre have restarted.
The Stretch, Relax and Breathe is held on Monday mornings, 9.45am, and Line Dacing with Pat Lea is on Monday evenings, starting at 7pm.
The Short Mat Bowls is run on Tuesday mornings and evenings.
Fit as a Fiddle is a keep fit fun time ran by Age Concern. It is an 11-week course and is on Tuesdays, 1pm-2pm.
The Over 50’s Club meet on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month. You can always be sure of a warm welcome.
On Thursday morning it is your chance to get out your paints and join the Art Class. They produce some wonderful work and we are looking to hold an exhibition very soon.
Dancing on Fridays: 11am-12.30pm for mums (crèche provided); 2pm-3.30pm for adults; 4pm-5pm for children aged six and over (bring the kiddies along mum and dad and I am sure you will want to join in, yes that is allowed!); 5pm-6pm for teenagers. Come on these sessions are FREE, you can pay £1 for two minutes at the arcades, so this a wonderful bargain.
Our “Can’t Sing…Neither Can We” choir the Waterside Singers start today, Monday, January 17, at 2pm. If you would like to join us please come along. We are now starting on a new range of songs, and then we will be looking for new venues to play. Thanks to Debbie Peach we have a DVD highlighting the choir’s rise to fame, available for £5 from the Park Community Centre.
Finally, we have another of ourCommunity Quiz evenings on Saturday, January 22 at 7pm.
It is £3.50 each, which includes light refreshments, and you are welcome to bring your own drink.
