The ‘Seagull’ has landed

THE seagull bags which have been circulated in the area have been very well received and the council have reported a 50 per cent decrease in the rubbish left after the refuse collection has taken place in the first week.

Just a few pointers on their use need to be explained:

Please make sure the lid is firmly covering the bags inside, otherwise the seagulls can still get at the black bags.

The tie on the side of the bag should NOT be tied over the top, but used to tie your bag onto your gate or drain pipe to stop it blowing away when empty.

You may write your number and road on them.

If you live in the Park District and require a Seagull bag call into the Park Community Centre, Chelmsford Street, Monday to Thursday 10am-12 noon, Friday 9.30am-11.30am.

WE look forward to seeing for the next quiz night on Saturday, May 14.

Teams of four, or come on your own and we can make up teams on the night. The cost is £3.50 which includes light refreshments, you are welcome to bring your own bottles, and have a great night. There is a prize of £20 for the winning team.

THE Park Community Centre is hosting another workshop for "Let’s Make It" on Monday, May 16 from 3.15pm-5.15pm.

Come along and help us make a float for the Carnival. Everything is made of wool, including a replica of the Jubilee Clock!

Also, if you have any unwanted wool, please bring it along to the centre.

THE "Give and Take" morning will be held on Saturday, June 4.

Bring an item and see if there is something you would like.

HAVE you noticed that the Forum has not produced a newsletter since before Christmas?

As it takes a great deal of time to produce and is expensive to print etc, we would like your comments whether we should continue with it, and if so we would need someone to edit and produce the next issue. We also need someone to sell advertising space. If you think you are that person please contact us on 839579.
