WITH great regret Peter and Ann Martin have made the decision to retire on Saturday, February 6 when the Post Office in Portesham will close.
A very sad day for Portesham to lose our Post Office but we all wish Peter and Ann every success and happiness in their retirement and thank them for all their services to the village over the past 21 years.
The “Refresh your driving skills” course is a three-hour presentation, free to attend, and aims to give drivers of all ages and experience an opportunity to update and improve their skills and knowledge.
No driving is involved on the day, however details of a practical 90 minute course will be available and if interested, please book your place by contacting Dorset County Council’s road safety team by email at roadsafety@dorsetcc.gov.uk or phone 01305 224267.
Please bring with you any article you are working on at present - any queries please to Joan Halls on 871946.
You are invited to join them and support your pre-school for a delicious continental or full English breakfast, bacon roll or maybe a slice of cake and a cuppa.
There will be fun and games for all including junk modelling, play dough corner, painting, tombola, raffle, cakes and more.
Also the local Neighbourhood Watch team will be available to offer advice and help where needed plus the now popular village library with books for all ages, so come along, banish the winter blues and have some fun, chat and relax while you enjoy the variety of refreshments on offer.
Also to be included in the evening is the “Pancake Tosser of the Year” competition, which proved very popular last year plus a new category which I shall let you know more of with any further details shortly so keep watching this space!
