• A NEW shop called Arty Party Cakes has opened at Lodmoor Hill, Dorchester Road.

The owners, Ian and Ann Marie Gill asked Mrs Eve Hanney to carry out the official opening.

She is a retired teacher in Sugarcraft and is still involved, passing her knowledge and skills to young and old in this area.

Mrs Hanney said that it she felt honoured to be opening this new business and that this kind of shop is very much in demand in the area.

She wished Ian and Ann Marie every success in the new venture and officially declared the shop open.

• LAST month, Mrs. Hanney was also at the end of term Christmas Dinner, held in the Weymouth College.

She presented Mrs Joan Savage with a special award with all the sugarcraft students watching and enjoying the seasonal occasion.
