  • The Green Gym is up and running.

It is positioned next to the children’s Play Galleon. This latest feature for Lodmoor Country Park is the result of successful efforts of the Friends in partnership with the Borough Council.

The LCP Friends, backed by the Borough Council’s Parks team submitted a bid to Groundwork UK to install the outdoor gym and £43,000 grant has provided twenty-one pieces of equipment located at five areas, or stations, around a two kilometre trail and is free for all to use!

There will be an official opening later in the year, but the equipment is now available for use.

This is timely, as exercise can be beneficial after the recent festive season!

  • ON three consecutive Saturdays, starting at 10.30am there are special fundraising events at St Augustine’s Church Hall, Lodmoor Hill.

A Coffee Morning on Saturday, February 5 raises funds for the Stella Maris One World Group.

A Grand Sale of books, DVDs, CDs and Videos is also being organised the following Saturday, February 12 by the One World Group.

Finally, a Jumble Sale will be on Saturday, February 19, which is in aid of the newly formed Thomas Fowell Buxton Society.
