RADIPOLE’S Running Rector, Rev Ian Hobbs is in training for the London Marathon, which takes place on Sunday, April 17.

He is raising money for Weldmar and is currently collecting sponsorship, so donations will be most welcome and can be sent to Ian via St Aldhelm’s Church.

It’s been touch and go for a week or so, as Ian suffered an injury, from which he is hoping to continue recovering.

THERE is an exciting change of pace with the new St Aldhem’s Church Hall project.

Events move up a gear as tenders have now been invited and it is hoped that building will begin this spring.

THE Friends of Lodmoor Country Park are organising their Winter Tree Time Walk in the Park on Saturday, February 19, starting from the Children’s Play Galleon at 10am.

This is the fourth seasonal walk that Borough Parks Manager, Carl Dallison has agreed to lead for the Friends, who appreciate his wealth of knowledge about trees, particularly the ones at Lodmoor.

It is always fascinating to listen to Carl while strolling around the park and seeing how the trees are changing through the year.

There is charge of just £1 per adult and accompanied children are free. Money raised goes towards the LCP New Bench Fund.
