Affpuddle

  • HELP for Heroes was the charity supported by the Bladen Social Club with a grand table-top sale, jumble sale and coffee morning in Briantspuddle village hall.

A big thank you goes to all the helpers who worked so hard, and everyone who came along to support it.

The event made a profit of £190, and Sue Jeanes tells me that the club will soon be sending off another £1,000 to Help for Heroes.

Rehearsals are on Thursday nights from 6pm until 8pm.

This award is not given lightly; in fact this is the first time it has been awarded to a member of Bere Regis scout group, and is believed to be the first time it has been awarded in the Wareham and Isle of Purbeck district.

Two choices of soup will be served with bread and butter and a cup of tea or coffee, and the lunches are in aid of Christian Aid.
