NICOLA COOKE is presenting her exhibition of new work at the Old School Village Hall from Easter Sunday, March 12 to Tuesday, March 14, open daily from 10.00am to 6.00pm.

Birch trees have inspired Nikki this year, she delights in their beautiful slender shapes, the colours and shades of woodland and several of her paintings feature Thorncombe Woods.

Find time, if you can, to visit the exhibition and refresh yourselves at the Wishing Well cafe opposite, perhaps taking time to enjoy the gardens there which are just springing into life.

MEMBERS of Upwey and Broadwey W.I. enjoyed a talk at their March meeting by Mrs. Christine Shaw who had visited Marrakech recently and described crowded and exciting Medina City: illustrated with many colourful slides, members were quite transported to such a totally different environment.

Now it’s back down to earth with the business of the Annual Meeting at the Memorial Hall on Thursday, April 9 at 2.30pm. For anyone interested in joining, the secretary is Mrs. Peggy Riglar, telephone 01035 812160.

A LONG established craft group, which has been meeting at Littlemoor for the last three years, is moving to the Memorial Hall in Victoria Avenue on Monday, April 20, and every Monday thereafter from 12.15pm to 2.45pm.

Sasha Fancy welcomes you to come and try many and various card-making techniques, and other craft activities, in good company, at a cost of £3.00 per session which includes coffee, tea and biscuits and all materials, though she does ask that you bring your own tools – scissors, needles and so on. Contact her on 01305 832207.
