Peace and quiet now the new road is open

THE best good news this week has to be the opening of the new road, which has caused a remarkable peacefulness in Upwey – we heard someone say that she could not sleep for the quietness of the road! She’ll probably get over it.

THERE was a great clearing, chopping, pruning and grinding of overgrown vegetation at Goulds Bottom picnic park, which is managed by the Upwey Society, when several keen members gathered to tidy up this special place.

WITHOUT the effort of going to a stadium, the Springfield Social and Snooker Club held a dog racing evening at the Reynolds Community Centre, organised in memory of Bob Rankin who had been a regular snooker player there for many years.
