WESTHAM councillor Gill Taylor confessed that she never thought she'd get excited about a dog poo bin.

ST PAUL’s held their first Club 200 draw and the winners for the June draw are. First prize of £50 was Mrs S J Gill, second prize of £30 was Mrs D I Withey and the third prize of £15 was Mrs R Knight.

GREEN CLUB TIDY UP

THE GREEN Club garden fronting onto Norfolk Road has had a good tidy up, fences painted and trees trimmed. The work was done by some adults from the area and members of the Westham Youth Forum.

THE FRIENDS of Conifers Primary School are having a fund raising event of an adults Quiz Night on Friday, June 5 staring at 7.30 and finishing at 10pm. The cost is £2 per person with a maximum of six people per team, tea or coffee and cake are just 50p.

A FEW weeks ago the Emerald Stars majorette troupe had a presentation evening and the members received their medals for the exams they passed. The medals were handed out by the guys from the Weymouth Lions Club who also presented the Emerald Stars with a cheque for £200.

EASTER weekend sees the start of the Community Garden Project in Bedford Road that is being co-ordinated by Ryan Hope of the Youth Forum and Julie Hursthouse from Weymouth and Portland Borough Council. Work will start at 11am on Friday, April 10 at Bedford Road and will hopefully finish on Thursday, April 16.

MEMBERS of the Friday Club at the Dorset Close Centre held a very successful Pyjama Party that included a bring and by sale.

Boys and Girls of the 1930s wanted

A REUNION of the girls and boys of the 1930s from the Westham area and anyone who attended local schools during the war years is planned for Saturday, April 4 at the Victoria Inn, Knights in the Bottom, Chickerell at 7pm. There will be a private bar and buffet, entrance by ticket only.

Spring Clean

ON SATURDAY and Sunday, March 28 and 29 there will be a spring clean on the town green. At the recent Westham Community Meeting (COPS) it was decided to use that weekend to have a good clean up of the open spaces in the area of Westham.
