ONCE again Winfrith Village Hall was filled to capacity with an Artsreach event, our last of the season when Tim Laycock and Colin Thompson performed in “Benjamin’s Book.”

Based on a recently discovered manuscript book of fiddle tunes, this lively and entertaining performance is highly recommended and so if it is featured in Artsreach’s autumn programmme do try and get to see it.

We all enjoyed it very much.

Thanks to our Artsreach committee of Chris, Angie, Angela, Peter, Wendy, John and myself for all the hard work on promoting and helping at the Artsreach events at the hall. We have had some great performances and excellent attendances this year.

Shortly the team will be attending the promoters evening where the next seasons shows will be showcased. Decisions will have to be made for the autumn season.

Thanks to Ian, Delphine and Yvonne of Artsreach for all their committed hard work in arranging such a splendid programme for us.

DON’T forget to get your tickets for the Pie and Pint evening at Winfrith Village Hall on Saturday April 30.

These are available from Winfrith Post Office, which is open every day of the week.

THE following week on Saturday, May 7, Holy Trinity Church, West Lulworth have arranged a meal and entertainment by local talent at West Lulworth Village Hall.

So look out for tickets for another entertaining night out.

LULWORTH ARTS is a diverse group of local artists and they have arranged an Easter Exhibition from Friday, April 22 until Monday, May 2 at Finlay’s in Lulworth Cove.

Entry is free and the exhibition is open from 11am until 5pm over the Easter holiday.

PLASTIC recycling is now available at The Red Lion at Winfrith according to our Parish News.

So, I must check this out and see, as this will be very convenient to everyone, as Purbeck District Council do not collect plastic containers on their regular collections.

LEON Harvey, who lives in Winfrith Newburgh, is a very keen member of the Dorset Clock Society and has asked me to mention their next meeting will take place on Saturday, May 21, at St. George’s Hall, Dorcheste.

There will be a talk by Matthew Read on “Restoring the Silver Swan”.

If you would like more details about this group contact Tony Marshall on 01202 884488 who will be delighted to tell you more about the Society.
