Enola Cole, representing Magna Housing, presented the £1725 cheque to Second Chance’s Secretary and trustee, John Milton.
Second Chance recently faced two dauntingly hefty bills for the installation of new and necessary equipment, one being an additional fire door which was installed last year and the other being for purpose built hardware and a back-up service to enable the charity to process claims on donated items via their recently introduced Gift Aid scheme.
Magna Housing both funded the fire door and offered to make up the difference between what had already been raised towards setting up the Gift Aid scheme (including £475 generously given by Weymouth Lions Club and Weymouth Rotary Club) and the full cost which was over £2000.
The volunteers and staff at Second Chance say the support they have received from Magna Housing is magnificent.
They not only appreciate the financial assistance but are also encouraged by the recognition of their services that this generous donation by Magna represents.

The office in Lynch Lane is open every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9.30am to 1.30pm.
Lots of people turned up and were very generous with many giving donations as well as spending on the coffee, raffle and stalls.
The event raised a fantastic £305 which has been sent to the Echo shelter box appeal for Haiti.
A good number of bacon rolls were consumed and a further £233 added to the funds raised so far.
Angela is grateful to everyone who came and those of her supporters who kindly donated goodies to sell.
