Home made soup, a bread roll, apple pie and cream plus a cup of tea or coffee will be provided for a charge of £4 per person. There’s value for money!
There will be a raffle, cake stall and white elephant stall as well the chance to catch up with friends in a cosy, cheerful atmosphere.
All money raised will go towards the mental health charity Combat Stress (www.combatstress.org.uk).
The green is situated between Wyke and Westham behind St. Augustine‘s School and is instantly recognisable as the distinctive open space below the Wyke mast, clearly visible from miles around.
The area has been used extensively for recreation for many years and is identified in the December 2005 Weymouth and Portland Local Plan as an important open gap.
A public hearing in 2001 resulted in an order by Dorset County Council to register the area known as Markham and Little Francis as a Town Green.
Subsequently a local developer purchased the land and later sought permission through the High Court to have its’ Town Green status removed.
The Society for the Protection of Markham and Little Francis was reinstated in 2008 to help keep the Town Green .
A substantial amount towards the cost of expert legal representation has been raised but with less than six months to go, fund raising now has an added urgency.
The next event is a fashion show to be staged by Travelling Trends at Wey Valley School on Friday, February 26.
Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 7.30pm. A licensed Bar and refreshments will be available. There’s plenty of free off road parking.

There will be plenty of top quality high street clothing to view at prices to suit everyone. You can try before you buy and take away what you choose to purchase with you.
All profits will be donated to the Society for the Protection of Markham and Little Francis.
All money raised will be donated to school funds.
Singing by Wyke Regis junior school choir will open the evening.
There will be a Posh Frocks fashion show. Various treatments will be available to try, best booked on arrival to avoid disappointment.
There will also be a wide range of stalls to visit.
Various events are planned for the coming year including a teddy bears' story time.
Volunteers also hope to create a wildlife garden and install play equipment for older children.
