Weymouth's landmark King George III statue has finally begun to resemble its normal self again.
His Royal Highness's head has been completely restored to its former glory as he peers out across The Esplanade once more.
And when the covers shielding the 1810 statue are peeled back next month, resort visitors and residents alike will be able to enjoy the finished results of the £30,000 refurbishment project.
Former Weymouth College lecturer Warwick Brown has spent the past seven days on top level scaffolding painting the monarch's remodelled face.
He said: "We've had a few blowy days when the scaffolding has been moving around - but we've had a good view.
"We've based the face on a former Madame Tussauds waxwork.
"As a local chap, this is certainly something I never thought I'd get the chance to do."
The contractor, Poole-based Osirion Conservation, has also gilded the lion at the bottom of the statue as part of the project.
Councillor Doug Hollings, environment and sustainability spokesman, said: "The statue will be covered by CCTV."
