DORCHESTER will be looking to erase memories of 2005 when they visit Suttoners at Dean Park tomorrow in the Dorset Funeral Plan Premier League (1.30pm).

The county town side achieved promotion to the top tier of Dorset cricket last year while Suttoners were placed sixth in the Premier League.

But three years ago their paths could have taken very different directions.

Captain Martyn Richards said: "On the final day of the 2005 season, in Division One, Suttoners beat us to gain promotion in a match where had we won we would have been promoted, so in that sense we feel we owe them one.

"In the two games we played we were unfortunate to lose one but beaten by the better team in the other."

Richards' men made an emphatic return to the Premier League last week, brushing Blandford aside with a nine-wicket success, while tomorrow's opponents picked up an impressive victory over last year's third place team, Parley.

Richards added: "Beating Parley is a good result so we're expecting Suttoners to be a sterner test than Blandford. I'm sure Suttoners will be delighted having started their campaign with that win.

"Confidence is high in our squad having got our season off to the way in which we did. However, we know that one win doesn't make us a great side so we have got to keep it going.

"We have been forced to make changes so we know that we will have to work hard at Dean Park to come away with anything."

Those changes see opening batsman Lee Haynes absent due to work commitments, Ian Sibley unavailable and Adam Iyer at university.

In their place come Steve Gerety, who missed last week's win because of an ankle injury, Simon Joslin and all-rounder Joe Baggs, both of who put in good displays for the seconds last week.

Richards added: "I've got an idea of our best batting order but it will take a few weeks for it to settle, however, it will be nice to see the likes of Dan Belt, Shannon Dunnett and Paul Tweddle with the bat."
