A BOOK chronicling 125 years of the history of Westham in Weymouth has been launched.
Debby Rose originally wrote Westham: Over The Bridge Of Time as a series of articles to accompany a public exhibition about the area.
But she decided she did not want to let all her hard work go to waste after the display, and compiled the articles into a book after further research and writing.
Debby said: "I just love local history and I found it very rewarding to write.
"I had hoped to include more about people's personal memories in it but unfortunately I ran out of space."
She added that she plans to write another book based on Westham residents' recollections of the area.
Westham: Over The Bridge Of Time was officially launched at the Rock Hotel, Abbotsbury, where the author signed copies.
It is currently available online at www.westham.weymouth-dorset.co.uk and from the Rock Hotel.
All proceeds from the sale of the book will go to the Westham Community Oriented Problem Solving (Cops) group.
