The road to Crac De Chevalier is a yellow one on the map. In reality it is a narrow, windy route through a hillside town up to the summit where there is perched one of the biggest and most impressive castles I have ever seen.

I would just like to take a moment to pay my sincere respects to the inventor of gaffer tape. Mr Gaffer, you have done us proud and without you, this trip would have been a lot more difficult. Currently we have a number of items held together by gaffer tape. My camera battery charger, the dashboard and the beer fridge to name a few.

OF all of the things associated with moving to a foreign country, it is probably the most important element that is overlooked. It is not the accommodation issue, which is normally taken care of before any packing cases are filled. Transport to your new home is easily remedied if you have access to a computer and some rudimentary keyboard skills.

Proffering the Google map of the location of my campsite I sit down in the metro information office and hope they speak English. It doesn't start well.

After a brief stop in a Serbian hypermarket for some non-essentials I took over the driving for a brief non-motorway section in to Bulgaria. It turned out to be an incredibly intense session, leaving me frazzled.

I spend five perfect blissful days in Paris and I have much to tell about it, but the Beard says I am so far behind on the blog I must move on and because I love it when he is masterful, I will.

I woke up somewhere in Germany at a fuel station. Having the bus credit card means I'm going to be an ever present at fuel stops.

Dawn broke in a rather dismal, half-hearted way as we docked in Calais and Kev was behind the wheel for the first leg on foreign soil. The north of the continent can seem a little dull and featureless, not improved by drizzle and traffic jams.

Yet another local bank holiday Fiesta looms, this time it's for one of the largest travelling animal circus still in existence. But I know what some will say? Oh, those poor animals, how could you go and see them being treated like that, they wouldn't be able to do that in England!'
