The thing about travelling, more precisely the thing about travelling if you are a confirmed carb junkie like little old me is that carbs can quickly begin to make up 80% of your diet, the remaining 20% obviously being chocolate. So in a bid to fight off scurvy I grab a deee lishus fruit smoothie at Dublin airport.

This morning I realised I was exfoliating my face for what would be the last time in over five weeks. This may not seem very momentous to you if you are of the stubbly chin persuasion, but I am a long standing and fully paid up member of the "use lots of expensive creams that you know can't possibly deliver what they claim but do it anyway just in case club."

When I tell people about my trip and that I paid just £1.00 including tax for my flights they say "Yes but then you've got tax on top ", "no that includes tax" I say, "Oh that includes tax" the penny drops. "Yes, that includes tax" I say ... again.

Rain, gales, flooding, aahh, the typical British summer, who could live without or ever miss it? Well ME for a start! Don't know about you, but I love the idea of planning a BBQ four weeks in advance with some friends and not having to make a contingency plan for inclement conditions'. But there is unfortunately a possible drawback to experiencing a six month summer.
