WITH all the changes taking place in Weymouth and Portland in recent months, it is easy to forget times of change in past years.
Now Peter Rendall, a former borough mayor, is hoping to catch up with someone he shared a very special event with while he was wearing his chain of office in 1991.
He said: “2012 is 21 years since the opening of Safeway on the site of what is now Morrisons.
“I was mayor at the time and officially opened the store and was helped by a young girl.
“I remember a picture was taken of us at the time with her sitting in a shopping trolley and someone complained that it wasn’t a very hygienic thing to do!”
Although Peter can’t recall the girl’s name, he believes her family still lives in the town and would like to catch up with her again after all these years.
