Starting Over

Trevor Morris and his wife Sue left Charlton Down in 2002 for the Tarn region of southern France, where Trevor renovates old properties. In his spare moments he writes a weekly column about his experiences for the Dorset Echo Weekend Magazine.

Trevor's articles have now been collected in a 348-page book called Viva La Renovation, which is available on-line by visiting www.dorsetecho.co.uk/publications or from the Echo offices in Weymouth and Dorchester.

Silly Season
THERE are a great many things in life that benefit from being compressed and condensed: orange juice for one.

The Last Big Thing
ONE of the hardest things in life, when you work with the same people for many years, is what to talk about at lunchtime.

Crime and Punishment
YOU can run but you can't hide. If you commit the crime then your justice will arrive, in its own sweet time. Even a bushy beard and a pair of glasses can't hide you forever, as Radovan Karadzic found out. He will very soon be meeting his justice in the Hague.

Swings and Roundabouts
IT would be fair to say that when it comes to transport innovation France has never really been at the cutting edge of technology.

Hard Times
THERE IS apparently still plenty of mileage left in the old saying that when America sneezes the rest of the world catches a cold.
