Description

Originally built in the 1950's this individual detached house subsequently has been extended over the years to provide a well-proportioned house which could be extended further, subject to the necessary planning consent. The house has mellow brick elevations under a pitch tiled roof and has been cleverly designed to take full advantage of its wonderful setting with all the main reception rooms facing south overlooking mature gardens towards the Blackdown Hills.

Accommodation

The accommodation includes a reception hallway with turning staircase to the first floor with access to the cloakroom and doors to the reception room. The sitting room is a well-proportioned room with glazing and sliding patio doors which run along the length of the room opening onto the terrace. There is an open Hamstone fireplace, walk in shelving storage cupboard and access through to the study which is a five sided room with windows on three elevations overlooking the garden. The dining room again enjoys a southerly aspect over the garden with double glazed sliding patio doors opening onto the rear veranda. There is a minster stone fireplace with shelved recess. The breakfast room enjoys wonderful views over the garden and opens out into the kitchen which is fitted with a range of shaker style wall and base units with work tops and electric cooker with hood over, built in fridge/freezer, space for a dish washer and dual aspect windows overlooking the garden. The utility room is fitted with a range of units with work surfacing over, sink, space for a washing machine and back door to the side garden.

On the first floor a turning stairs lead up to the main landing. The master bedroom has double aspect windows with a walk in en-suite dressing room, wardrobes and door through to an en-suite shower room which is fitted with an enclosed shower, wash hand basin and WC. Three further bedrooms have built in mirrored wardrobes and enjoy stunning views. The main bathroom has a matching suite with bath, wash basin and WC. The second bathroom also has a bath, wash basin, WC with a built in wardrobe and shelf.

Outside

The property is approached from the village lane through a five bar gate which opens onto a gravelled driveway with turning and parking area. To one side is a detached double garage with electrically operated up and over door. There are a number of specimen trees including Lime, Yew, Horse Chestnut, Beech and Oak which shields the property from the lane. The driveway drops down to provide access to the front of the house and there is a moon gate opening which opens through to the garden area which is predominately on the south side of the property and enjoys a wonderful aspect and views towards the Church and the Blackdown Hills in the distance. The gardens are predominately laid to lawn with well stocked shrubs and trees enclosed by mature hedging. To the rear of the property there is a paved terrace with a veranda pergola over and on the other side is a productive kitchen garden.
