JIMMY BUCHAN, from BBC's Trawlermen series is to be a prominent feature at this year's Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival.

The skipper of the Amity II will be joining the festival from Scotland and sharing his knowledge of the Scottish Langoustine, also known as the Norway lobster, scampi, Dublin Bay prawn and langoustine.

This will be the eighth year for the festival which kicks off on July 11 through to July 12 around Weymouth harbourside.

Brian Cooper, festival director said: "This year we are very pleased to welcome Jimmy Buchan from Peterhead, star of the BBC hit TV documentary Trawlermen. Jimmy will be displaying the very best of Scottish seafood from the Amity Fish Company Stand".

Mr Buchan said: "After attending the festival last year, I was delighted to be asked to take part in the Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival 2015.

"I am honoured to be part of such an incredible festival that is all about great seafood and that helps promote local produce and sustainability. I am particularly looking forward to getting on stage and doing a few demos with some langoustines and fish".

The festival will focus on Dorset and the fishing industry along the South Coast, however it will also look further afield when discussing larger topics affecting fishing and seafood.
