THERE'S a chance to enjoy Dorset produce at an evening with a European twist at a Dorchester café and wine bar every Thursday evening.

YCs Cafe and Wine Bar at Dukes Fine Arts Salerooms on Copper Street, Brewery Square, is holding a weekly Bruschetta Bar and Raclette Cheese evening.

The café is a collaboration between two chefs and is a partnership between Yalbury Cottage (YC) at Lower Bockhampton and Yvon Coignard (YC). Jamie Jones of Yalbury Cottage met Yvon whilst working at the Four Seasons Hotel in London. There they formed a great working relationship as well as a friendship which has stood the test of time.

The bruschetta and cheese evening involves a help yourself Bruschetta Bar with lots of dishes to choose from plus the famous Raclette Cheese.

Each plate costs only £5. The evening is also complemented with some wines supplied locally by Morrish and Banham, also based in Brewery Square.

Jamie said the evening is all about using local Dorset produce.

"I can honestly say that I enjoy Thursday nights at YC’s as the guests do attending.

"It’s a chance for me to use my skills I have learnt from working all over the world from Asia to the middle east from all my colleagues. It's wonderful to take those recipes and marry them with our fantastic Dorset produce to create something so special.

"I am so proud of our local suppliers and producers who have helped me source all the produce. The bruschetta bar is a lovely way to eat as you can take your pick of the many different dishes and then top it with the local melted cheese, it is so unique!"
