GOOD grub is a must at Christmas and on Saturday, a number of top Dorset foodies will be selling their wares at Bridport Arts Centre.
Between 9am and 1pm, more than 20 stalls will be set up, selling a wide range of locally-made produce and specialist foods from the area’s growing number of food entrepreneurs.
The stalls will include Capreolus smoked meats, Bunnies Love jams and preserves, Mr Filbert’s delicious nuts, Denhay bacon and Cheddar, West Milton Cider, Town Mill Cheesemonger, Honeybuns cakes, Leakers Bridport bread and Mabbetti French and Italian confectionery.
Organiser Richard Mabb, who runs Gustosecco risottos and rice puddings, said: “Christmas is a time of celebration and this is food for the good times.
“We will also be celebrating local food businesses and the great food they produce.
“What I am really thrilled about is that people from outside the area are taking part. Bath Pig charcuterie, for example, have never set foot in the area before so we are pleased to have them on board with their award-winning chorizo. Sherston Teas from Wiltshire will also be here with their beautiful teas that are gorgeously packaged and make a lovely present.”
Richard added: “The idea is basically to have fun – fun for the producers, fun for the customer. The people taking part are the unsung food producers – what I call the ‘secondary producers’ who rarely get together.”
