ONE of Weymouth’s longest running ‘chippies’ turned back the clock to celebrate its 20th birthday on Saturday. (6)
Customers were offered a small cod and chips at the 1997 takeaway price of £2.80
In 1997 Paul Hay opened the doors to Fish n Fritz in Market Street, Weymouth for the first time.
Some 20 years later Fish n Fritz has earned its place as one of Weymouth’s favourite fish and chip shops.
Paul said: “Where did those 20 years go? It seems like only yesterday I was opening up for the first time.”
If it wasn't for the support of everyone, locals and tourists alike, we wouldn’t be here today. That’s why I wanted to give this thank you back to everyone who’s supported us since 1997.”
Since its opening Fish n Fritz has won countless awards and become a firm favourite with locals and visitors alike. Customers have recently generously suspended many cups of coffee and food for those in need and Fish n Fritz are backing and supporting the Bus Shelter Dorset project.
