A ROARSOME new range of ice cream has been launched in a bid to help protect the Jurassic Coast.

Purbeck Ice Cream has teamed up with the Jurassic Coast Trust on a new range of ice cream flavours.

Due to launch this autumn, the new flavours will inspire people with Purbeck’s ancient stories of dinosaurs, whilst raising much-needed funds to help look after the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site.

Based near Kingston, Purbeck Ice Cream is determined to find sources as close to home as possible in Dorset. Using fresh Purbeck milk, thick Dorset cream, British sugar and an abundance of only the best natural ingredients, with no artificial additives, added colours or nuts, gluten-free and suitable for vegetarians, everything is made on the farm with fun, love and passion by a small and friendly team.

The products and team have scooped multiple awards in recognition of quality, brand image and innovation.

Five pence from the sale of each tub in the new range will be donated to The Jurassic Coast Trust, to protect and help people have the best possible experience of England’s only natural World Heritage Site.

The partnership is particularly timely as the Trust takes on management of the site in July from local authorities, working to ensure the coast’s World Heritage status is maintained, whilst inspiring people from all walks of life with its incredible stories of fossils, dinosaurs, and ancient landscapes.

As a result of their outstanding fundraising efforts, Purbeck Ice Cream will be welcomed as one of the Jurassic Coast Trust’s Lead Business Partners, a group which also includes West Dorset Leisure Holidays and Lulworth Estate. Lead Business Partners contribute £3,000 or more annually to the Trust.

Guy Kerr from the Jurassic Coast Trust said of the partnership: “We are delighted to partner with Purbeck Ice Cream, a prestigious family business synonymous with the Jurassic Coast. "With the Trust’s new increased responsibility for protecting the coast, securing the support of major local businesses is now more crucial than ever.

"We look forward to the new range of flavours inspiring people with Purbeck’s ancient stories, whilst helping to look after our World Heritage Site for all to experience.”

Emily Freeman of Purbeck Ice Cream said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be working in partnership with the Jurassic Coast Trust, as the preservation and maintenance of our beautiful and internationally renowned Jurassic Coastline is an integral part of the local community and landscape. We are proud to be able to contribute through our new range to be launched in autumn, and look forward to a dynamic and valued partnership.”
