Iceland cocktail sausages, £1.75
A slightly anaemic looking sausage, which didn’t tantalise the tastebuds either. Could probably do with a decent spell in the oven or microwave to perk these porkers up. 3/5
Marks and Spencer Mini Pork Sausages, £2.19
These posh sausages were the most expensive of the lot and frankly not worth the extra pennies. They had an especially salty aftertaste that had me downing several pints of water to quench my thirst. 2/5
Waitrose cocktail sausages, £1.99
A rather strange taste at first, with its almost overpowering rich pork flavour. However, these sausages proved very popular due to their moreishness. The cocktail sausages were also very nicely shaped and would really look the part at a buffet. 4/5
Tesco smoky bacon cocktail sausages, £1.72
On the face of it combining bacon and sausage shouldn’t be a problem. But it is. These tasted so bizarre that it left me questioning what was right and wrong. A seriously confused cocktail sausage that almost turned me vegetarian. 1/5
Sainsbury’s cocktail sausages, £1.50
These sausages were pleasingly well bronzed like the David Dickinson of the meat world. As well being good looking these had by far the finest taste. 5/5
