Think you can mix the perfect Bloody Mary? Then come and pit your secret recipe against chefs, bartenders, publicans and restaurateurs from across the county in the quest to find the best Bloody Mary in Dorset.

The competition is being hosted by the Urban Beach hotel in Bournemouth on April 25, and each of the four finalists will receive a prize.

The overall winner will win a trip to the Ketel One Distillery in Schiedam, Holland, and the winning recipe will become the Ketel One Bloody Mary of choice.

Join The Hairy Bikers for an evening of cooking, chatting and laughs. The boys are appearing at the Southampton Guildhall on June 26.

As well as cooking, Dave recently won BBC’s Celebrity Mastermind, while Si took second place in The Weakest Link.

Last year was a busy one for the pair, with a 30-part BBC2 series, The Hairy Bikers’ Food Tour of Britain. Now they are embarking upon a national tour. Bikes and pans at the ready.


In its second year, National Cask Ale Week is back to |celebrate Britain’s national drink from March 29-April 5.

Following last year’s success, hundreds of events will once again take place during Easter week across the UK to mark National Cask Ale Week, organised by cask ale |quality accreditors Cask Marque, CAMRA (The Campaign for Real Ale) and many of the country’s brewers and pub owners and operators.

In 2009, the great British pint enjoyed a storming year, with 71 new breweries opening in the UK, taking the total up to 660 – the highest level since World War II.

This year National Cask Ale Week is asking ale lovers and ale virgins alike to pull together and continue to support and celebrate this British icon.
