Music lovers will be thrilled to learn that a group from the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra will perform on Portland on Saturday to raise funds for Portland Rocks youth music organisation.

The concert will start at 11.15am at the Community 2000 Hall, Easton, and last for approximately an hour. It’s a great opportunity for adults and children to experience a repertoire of classical music.

Steve Garden, music teacher for Portland Rocks, said: “We are so excited that the BSO has agreed to come to Portland to help raise money so that the young people here can continue to enjoy their music workshops.”

The concert is Youth Music funded and is a collaboration between Portland Rocks, Dorset Music Services and the BSO.

Tickets are just £4 for adults and £2 for children and are available at the Island Community Action office in Easton, IPACA Royal Manor campus reception and Fortuneswell Newsagents.

Refreshments will be available from 10.45am served by the young people of Portland Rocks, who will also hold a raffle.
