A superb show at DAC by three very gifted musicians – Papa George (guitars, vocals), Tom Compton (drums) and Pete Stroud (bass).
Every number was a musical workout with each musician given ample room to extend and solo.
Building on a great rapport with the audience they set to work. A highlight of the first set was Deadline Blues, which was excellent foot-tapping R ‘n’ B.
The second set featured PG on his National steel guitar. A tight arrangement of The Stones' Honky Tonk Woman with very good slide.
They performed a rollicking version of Muddy Waters’ Rolling and Tumbling which went down well.
To round the show off they played Peter Green’s Oh Well, a fitting finale to a cracking show.
