WE’VE had a great run of good weather and it looks set to continue so, in the words of the bloke whose pint I knocked over the other night while watching the football, let’s take this outside…

There are some super summer events coming up, starting tomorrow, Saturday July 12, with the Spirit of Chickerell festival at the Willowbed Hall.

Starting at 1pm, there’s a great line-up of live music with sets from The Veterans, Lauren Bannon, Under The Carousel, Lo Numbers, Jolly Boys Outing and Peacock Suit.

There’s shedfuls of stuff going on for all the family and it promises to be a great day out.

And looking ahead to next weekend, Sunday, July 20, it’s Tea on the Quay at the Rendezvous in Weymouth with once again, another impressive line-up of crowd-pleasing artists with Boytits, Mad Hatters, The Leggomen, Victorian Barbers, Craic On, Dave P and Peacock Suit all doing a turn.

And the weekend after that, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 25, 26, 27, it’s the big one. Yes, it’s Forever Sun with Buzzcocks, Toploader and the Happy Mondays topping the bill at the second extravaganza just outside Dorchester.

And they’ll be a fuller preview in next week’s Live! page.

And finally, talking of outdoor events, last week’s Chesil Rocks festival at Langton Herring rasied a whopping £9,000 for The Samaritans.

That’s almost double last year’s sum and a hugely impressive amount, so congratulations to the event organisers, those who went along and all the bands who gave their time and talent for this very worthy cause.
