Dare to Sea, a magical journey for children and adults which brings together dancers, circus performers and visual artists comes to Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts during Half Term week from Tuesday, October 28 to Wednesday 29.

A Franco-British collaboration, Lighthouse commissioned Peut-être Theatre from the UK and France’s La Manoeuvre to create the piece which features an underwater world conjured through handmade animated projections. Waves are created through an original score and objects such as juggling clubs become fish darting through the water.

On a beach at sunset, a fisherman and a woman are bewitched by a siren and dive headlong into the folds of the waves. They discover a new world teeming with wild fish, juggling mermaids and dark creatures in the Abyss.

This magical and moving adventure into the depth of the ocean is ideal for families with children aged 4 and upwards.

Dive in to indulge yourself in a magical and moving adventure of waves, acrobatics and magnificent images.

Peut-être Theatre brings a surreal poetic aesthetic to the world of children’s theatre.

Driven by a desire to create unforgettable early theatrical experiences for young audiences, artistic director Daphna Attias’ shows combine the visual, the physical and the musical to fabulous effect.

Dare to Sea is part of PASS, a groundbreaking collaboration between eight French and English creation centres designed to support the development and touring of new contemporary circus.
