Funeral For A Friend heading to the Pavilion
THE sun is shining, the birds are singing and everywhere you go people are enjoying lovely family summer holidays.
Our Olympic athletes are bringing in the medals and our heroic sailing team are surely just about to join the pantheon of greats with another mahoosive haul of golden bling.
All this relentless good news and cheerfulness, it’s enough to get any self-respecting misery guts down isn’t it?
So shuffle forward then Funeral For a Friend.
Yes, the Welsh doom-mongers and happy-go-lucky emo metal combo are bringing their personal black cloud of woe to the Pavilion in Weymouth tonight, Friday, August 3, in one of Hourglass Promotions’ biggest nights.
They’ll be tearing the arse out of tracks from their up-coming and as-yet untitled sixth studio album which will be an exclusive for Weymouth.
The Kerrang award-winning Bridgend moshers have played with Guns ‘n’ Roses and Iron Maiden and this will be a monster evening for the town.
There are only a few tickets left at £15 on the door or from ticketweb.com until 4pm today.
Support tonight comes from This Fall, Saint The Sinner and Rocket Dolls.
Right, after that racket I expect you’ll be wanting a lie down with a nice cup of tea and packet of HobNobs and maybe some nice soothing blues on the gramophone, eh?
Veteran blues bawler Lazy Lester comes to Dorchester Arts Centre next Friday, August 10 and it’s a rare chance to see one of the genre’s greats in action.
There’s not many of these good ol’ boys left and the 78-year-old High Sheriff of Louisiana will have to someday put down his bottleneck and put his feet up.
Tickets are £12 in advance, £14 on the door, and available from the box office on 01305 266926.
Until next time...
