Ryan Gosling has revealed how he wasn’t exactly a heartthrob during his school days.
The Lost River filmmaker, who has achieved pin-up status after starring in films such as The Notebook, Drive and Blue Valentine, admitted his lack of sporting prowess and love for the arts made him less than desirable in his classmates’ eyes.
“Growing up, I never played sports. And I guess, growing up, the guys girls liked were jocks or you know that sort of thing and because I never did that; I was in dance class and things like that,” he told Australia’s Sunday Style.
Ryan, who has a baby daughter with girlfriend Eva Mendes, continued: “Also I just grew up around a lot of girls.”
He added: “I was [involved] in a lot of their conversations about guys and I found it frustrating because I felt like I must not be a threat if they’re being so open in front of me. That used to bother me. Yeah, that bothered me. I didn’t like that.”
