An exciting new single is due out next month for emerging talent, Saraswati.

Ray of Sunshine will be released on an EP that will feature two other tracks, Bad Habits and Sweet Little Bassline. Both songs featured in the soundtrack to cult movie Brotherhood, also released this month. Quite a coup for an unknown singer-songwriter.

Inspired by the likes of Shakira, Destiny’s Child and Jennifer Lopez, Saraswati grew up listening to these artists and dreamed of a life that was a far cry from her humble beginnings in a Katmandu orphanage. Saraswati was adopted by a British family and came to live in the UK, where she began to work on her musical ability and natural talent that may have otherwise slipped through the net.

Along with her family, she is immensely proud of how far she has come.

She said: "I was thrilled to be invited to the premier of Brotherhood in London last week. Sitting there in the theatre surrounded by lots of great artist and actors and then to hear my songs on the big screen was just mind blowing and something I’ll never forget.

"I have been working hard doing so many little gigs up and down the country to get my music out there and I’m so happy with the response to the shows and my music.

"From playing small basement shows in Leeds, Glasgow and London to being asked to play Party at the Palace in Linlithgow recently, has been fantastic experience for me. What an incredible year so far.”

Saraswati’s new album is expected later in the year and Ray of Sunshine is available from Friday, September 2 from all major online retailers.
