Beyonce dominated at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.

She took home the top award of the night, video of the year, for Formation.

She thanked her “incredible” husband Jay Z and dedicated her award “to the people of New Orleans”.

Drake gave an emotional speech as he presented Rihanna with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award.

He said: “She’s someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22 years old.”

“She’s one of my best friends in the world, all my adult life I’ve looked up to her even though she’s younger than me.”
