Tom Holland has said attending the world premiere of his first Spider-Man film is “mind-blowing”.

The British actor, 21, also said he has no immediate plans to leave London yet for the lure of Hollywood, despite being lined up for sequels.

Holland, who played Billy Elliot in the West End musical, was speaking at the world premiere of Spider-Man: Homecoming in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

“Dude (it’s) surreal, I can’t believe this is happening. And the fact that I’m here today on Hollywood Boulevard with all of these amazing people, it’s just mind-blowing,” he told the Press Association.

He added: “I’m exploding right now, I literally l can’t describe to you how amazing I feel, this has been such a whirlwind.

“The fact that this movie is finally coming out is blowing my mind and I’m so honoured to be here.”

Despite his commitment to more films in the franchise, not to mention the allure of Californian weather and beaches, Holland said he was committed to staying in the UK – for now.

“I’m a London boy, born and bred, and I’ll be there for as long as I can. But that said, I do love LA, I love the sunshine and one day I’m sure I’ll be here,” he said.

His co-stars claimed he was the best Spider-Man and Peter Parker so far, beating out Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.

Marisa Tomei, who plays Peter’s auntie May Parker, described him as “top notch, he’s the best” while Herman Schultz actor Bokeem Woodbine said: “Tom Holland is the best one so far.

“He’s the best Peter Parker, which is an incredibly important part of being Spider-Man, and he’s the best Spider-Man as well.”

Woodbine tipped Holland for major success in the future as did Isabella Amara, who plays one of Peter’s classmates.

“Tom is one of the most talented actors I’ve seen in a while and I think he’s going to go great places,” she said.

Holland has played the role before, making an appearance in Captain America: Civil War, but this is the first Spider-Man film he has headlined.

:: Spider-Man: Homecoming will be shown in UK cinemas from July 5.
