So you thought you wouldn’t see Justin Timerlake mentioned in the same TV show as Les Battersby? WRONG! The Voice tonight proved that an old face from Corrie and a global superstar with some serious swag can appear alongside each other. Well, ish.

Bruce Jones, who played the unfortunate Les on the cobbles was in the studio to support his mate (a singer from Black Lace) who was auditioning, while Justin featured because a singer he discovered on YouTube wowed the judges after she was dropped from his record label in 2012. Complicated? Read on because the Twittersphere simplifies it. A lot.

Remember Black Lace? No? We don’t either. But they had that song Agadoo – you know the one your uncle gets up to dance to at weddings – and their frontman Dene Michael auditioned tonight. But he didn’t get through… even though he brought his mate Bruce, aka Corrie’s Les Battersby, for some support.

They do say being able to compromise is the secret of all good relationships.

Esmee Denters has performed to thousands of people having landed a record deal with superstar Justin Timberlake, but she said auditioning for the coaches without being able to see them was one of her biggest ever musical challenges. It ended well though because they all turned around. And she was popular with the viewers too.

Something tells us this isn’t likely.

RITA ORA SHOCKER!

Her hair was a talking point too.

Adam Rickitt (y’know, ex-Corrie and singer of that classic I Breathe Again? Him) wondered if he was listening to the same singer as the judges/coaches. Why is he not a judge/coach/pop mega star? Er…

You tell ‘em Adam.

Wales has got talent though, right?

Irish twin brothers auditioned but only one of them made the judges turn around. It was totes emosh.

Well, times are tough.

Always look on the bright side.
