Adam Lambert has talked about how exciting it was to become such a superstar in the UK after his memorable New Year’s Eve performance.

The singer had been performing with Queen on live dates around the country and parts of the show were watched by 12 million viewers when it aired on BBC One as part of their New Year’s Eve coverage.

Adam, who is the new cover star of Attitude magazine, said: “It was after the New Year show, the next day as I was walking home – with shades on, because it was quite a night – I got stopped on the street like five times. I had a baseball cap on as well, so I was like, ‘Alright, that show did its job!’.

“Being with Queen, on television for a British audience, bringing the New Year in with fireworks, it was just such an honour. I was just this American kid before, so I felt like an adopted child that day.”

Adam’s full interview can be seen in this month’s Attitude magazine.
