I WAS very excited to be invited to St Andrew’s School in Weymouth to meet Olympic triple jumper Onochie ‘Larry’ Achike.

Larry will compete in the Olympic Games this year where he will try to beat a personal best of 17.30m achieved when he finished fifth in the 2000 Games.

He had visited a number of schools in the area as part of a challenge to visit 2012 schools by the start of the Games.

I enjoy taking part in sports and jumping on the trampoline, as you can see by these pictures, but even as a lion I couldn’t get close to the distance I saw Larry leap. Amazing! I will definitely be cheering him on during the Games this summer.
