Discover the Captivating Canaries

Situated off the North West coast of Africa are the spectacular Canary Island, the five main ones frequented by holiday makers are Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma and Tenerife. These sun drenched islands have been a firm favourite with tourists taking their holidays in the Canary Islands year after year and although they are grouped together under the name "Canaries", each island has a unique twist that differentiates it from the rest.

It is easy to see why these islands are so popular with each of them having an assortment of golden sandy beaches to sun yourself on and breathtaking scenery that makes a perfect backdrop for your holiday photos. What's more the Canaries has been blessed with a sub-tropical climate making holidays here as appealing in the winter months as in the summer time. The summer months of July and August regularly sees temperatures topping 30 degrees so sun protection is a must and December and January temperatures average around 19 degrees, great if you like the heat a little more bearable.

Due to the location of these islands the cuisine served here is a tantalising combination of African and Spanish flavours ensuring that meal times are a real treat. Various flavoured fish cuisines are extremely popular as are the delicious fruit flavoured desserts. Rest assured there is an abundance of eateries serving traditional British cuisines around each of the islands as well as some well known fast food restaurants should you desire a taste of home during your holiday.

There is a plentiful selection of accommodation on offer throughout the islands no matter which resort you choose to stay in. Ranging from 5* hotel complexes offering all inclusive packages and more than enough facilities to keep you entertained to comfortable self contained apartment blocks and so much more in between. If there is a large group of you heading for your holidays in the Canary Islands you can even hire your own private villa for the duration of your stay. Usually set on the outskirts of resorts and including car hire this is a great way to explore the whole of your chosen island and have complete freedom on your holiday.
