The Flip Side of Party Central

On the southeast coast of Cyprus lies the party capital of the island Ayia Napa, in fact this bustling resort is one of the most famous party destinations in the Med and like a magnet pulls youngsters in their droves year after year.

It is easy to see why Ayia Napa is one of the top ten young and lively holiday destinations; this resort really does have it all. Firstly the selection of bars and clubs around the town is outstanding, many of which regularly play host to world class DJ's playing their sets to revellers night after night. The endless selection of bars play music to suit every taste and even better, they stay open until the sun comes up.

A perfect way to while away your days here would be rejuvenating and preparing for the night ahead on one of the selection of beaches around the resort, all of which have been awarded the European Blue Flag for excellence. Along the beaches there is watersports in abundance for you to try your hand at especially along Grecian Bay which is the main one. .

In fact, at first glance you could be forgiven for thinking that holidays to Ayia Napa only cater for the young and lively crowd. There is a flip side to this mischievous resort though, that also makes it appealing for older couples as well as families with young children.

During the day Harbour Beach is a great place to head as it is the quietest and most relaxing beach of them all, with the shallow crystalline waters gently lapping at the shoreline. There are also numerous secluded coves just waiting to be discovered where you can find your own piece of tranquillity. The Nissi Beach area of the resort is where many couples and families opt to stay as it is away from the main resort centre yet has its own fine selection of quieter bars and restaurants to be enjoyed.

In the old quarter of Ayia Napa you can stroll peacefully around the narrow cobbled streets browsing in the souvenir shops, there is also a selection of markets that sell everything from handmade lace and pottery products to leather goods and jewellery. You can even pull up a chair at a pavement cafe around the harbour and browse the spectacular yachts whilst you enjoy a light lunch.

So not only do holidays to Ayia Napa appeal greatly to the young and lively crowd, they also draw in many other holiday makers thinking about taking a break in a year round holiday destination.
