THE long awaited third annual concert featuring One Voice Choir and Beechcroft St. Paul’s and St. George’s primary schools was a massive success.

Under the musical directorship of Grazina Ellis and accompanist Louise Dukes, the contrasting sounds had everyone on the edge of their seats. Beginning with Adiemas, I Believe (with Ave Maria) and You Are Mine the choir set the tone.

A Lithuanian Romance and an accordion duet including Russian Folk Songs by Louise and Matt Cornick led to the 45-pupil choir supporting soloist Amy Luff in Truly Scrumptious, singing Joy Inside followed by I’d Like To Teach The World To Sing and Bob Marley’s One Love by the One Voice Choir.

Junior soloist Ellie Gould opened the second half with Over the Rainbow and the choir completed the evening’s entertainment with Barry Manilow’s One Voice, Bett Midler’s The Rose, Eric Clapton’s Tears In Heaven and Paul McCartney’s Let It Be, concluding with John Rutter’s A Clare Benediction.

The evening will be remembered by everyone, from performers to audience and young children to grandparents.
