Five piece harmony group The Overtones delivered one of the best nights out for their devoted fans.

The opening featured the 20th Century Fox introduction and sound-bites from films then the curtain was raised to reveal the group and their band upon rich red carpets with directors chairs and film strip decorations - it was Saturday Night at the Movies.

Having been told that some TV appearances had featured bad sound quality, I was a little apprehensive; and although there were some sound issues, it was handled brilliantly and comically by the guys and did little to affect their amazing harmonies.

This was pure fun from start to finish with hits such as Pretty Woman, Shake a Tail Feather, Do You Love Me and even The Bare Necessities / I Wanna Be Like You from Disney's The Jungle Book; and of course the title song Saturday Night at the Movies.

Try and avoid dancing along to these hits!

They even slipped in a harmonised version of the popular Daft Punk hit Get Lucky and dedicated their new single Superstar to a bride and groom in the audience, which is definitely a song any girl would love dedicated to them.

Timmy, Mark, Lachie, Mike and Darren make up this suave group and it is fair to say that their charisma had several female members of the audience swooning.

Every girl has to have a favourite and it was the gorgeous Timmy with his lovely Irish accent and impressive vocal talents that captured my heart.

A somewhat modernised group of the doo-wop genre of the 1950's, The Overtones have brought new life to this timeless feel-good, dance music and made it sexy once more.
