THEY mixed with the crowd, moshed and generally partied with thousands during their gig in Bournemouth. Bastille had the time of their lives as they blared out their music to the baying crowds at the BIC.

Lead singer, Dan Smith, at one point introduced These Streets as his favourite track on the group's Bad Blood Album.

In another moment, he threw his grey marl-coloured hoodie on, and jumped down into the audience, to introduce himself to screaming fans, and perhaps take a look from our perspective.

Strobe lights, head banging, flickering flashes from mobile phones and some beautiful violins are not the most common combination, but Dan and the Bastille team take all the hype surrounding them in their stride.

Sharing the stage with two support acts, Brother and Bones, and rap artist, Angel Haze, the night was full of dancing and fun.

Dan said that the BIC was one of the biggest venues they had played, but after picking up a Brit award for British Breakthrough Act, the gentlemen clearly have the world at their feet.

In fact, none more so than when Dan asks the audience to crouch during their take on Corona's hit, Rhythm of the Night, before everyone sprang up for the chorus.

Pompeii, Things We Lost In The Fire and Icarus, allowed the audience to enjoy the musical talent of singer-songwriter, Dan, and friends, Flaws and all.
