SHE spoke about her fears, life after divorce and buying a new home during her show in Bournemouth.

These were intense subjects, but Sarah Millican managed to encourage a funny side.

She is cheeky in places, and has no real airs and graces which prevent her from talking about her personal life on the 41st date of her 86-stop Home Bird tour.

Talking about touring since September and getting married just before Christmas, Miss Millican is like your comical best friend as she speaks about her relationship with her sister, and how now, as adults, they still run out of the house when they hear an ice cream van driving past.

There is no doubt in my mind that the Geordie lass knows quickly and easily how to win the audience on side, by throwing cheap jokes intermittently between anecdotes about newly-married life.

Miss Millican is a great example of somebody who worked an 9-to-5 office job, but had bigger, better aspirations and made the dream a reality, meaning that she is no longer bound to a desk, but instead tours the country and makes people laugh in the process.

Having featured on TV, including a show bearing her own name-sake, it seems now more than ever is our Sarah's time to shine, and she's having an absolute ball in the process. Just don't mention castles. Or Mr Whippy.
