The Larmer Tree Breakthrough Music Awards Live Finals - Sixty Million Postcards, Bournemouth
AFTER an enthralling live final at Bournemouth's Sixty Million Postcards, the Larmer Tree Breakthrough Live Music Awards found two winning acts to go through to the Larmer Tree festival in July.
Six unsigned acts from around the UK played their hearts out in front of a packed audience and all-important panel of judges. Best solo act went to the unassuming and ethereal Salisbury singer Lily McCauley, while best band went to the irresistible Welsh group, The Bleedin Noses.
Special mention must go to Bournemouth's own Drew Allen who despite captivating the crowd missed out on a festival slot. The winning two acts will now play at the Larmer Tree Gardens near Tollard Royal, which is held on July 16-20.
Headlining will be megastar Tom Jones. The five-day festival will see 100 acts perform on six stages, alongside a comedy club, Mark Kermode's Film Club, theatre, a variety of workshops and a range of children's entertainment. Day tickets for the opening night with Tom Jones have already sold out, but five or seven-day festival tickets are still available.
