IT was 2007 that this duo arrived in people's consciousness with their chart-flirting band-deriding breakthrough hit Thou Shall Always Kill. There was always a sense of ironic poetry and bleak social commentary shrouded in wit and wisdom.
That track is slipped in somewhat discreetly early on. A sign that there is far more to this pair?
The themes are a constant. The Beat My Heart Skipped is a rowdy crowd pleaser and Look For The Women evokes a chorus in unison of I love you too much to go, don't like you enough to stay.
Scroobius Pip even becomes peace maker at one stage. Stopping a song until the protagonist is lead away to applause. Dan Le Sac is responsible for providing the beats.
The pair also exchange banter that could turn them into a parody duo, but they are having fun and so are we.
Their 2013 album title Repent Replenish Repeat is as apt a title for this show as their release. The audience are taken in by Pip's lyrics then want Dan's beats to repeat while our memories are replenished of their hits.
