IT’S not every day that a 71-year-old succeeds in selling out a venue like the BIC’s Windsor Hall.

But then it’s pretty rare that a talent as extraordinary as that of 10-times Grammy award winner George Benson is in town.

The audience may be growing older with him but advancing years did nothing to curb the enthusiasm and rapturous welcome for the greatest jazz guitarist of them all.

His concert proved there are advantages to getting old, not least being the fact that it's OK to leave your seats, barge your way to the front and bop around front of stage with no interruption from security guards.
